The 1st World Qualification Tournament follows the continental qualification phase held throughout 2023. During this phase, boxers worldwide competed in five events to secure quota place for Paris 2024. These events included the European Games in Krakow, Poland (44 quota places, 22 for women and 22 for men), the Africa Qualification Tournament in Dakar, Senegal (18 quota places, 11 for women and 7 for men), the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China (34 quota places, 20 for women and 14 for men), the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile (30 quota places,16 for women and 14 for men), and the Pacific Games in Honiara, Solomon Islands (13 quota places, 6 for women and 7 for men).

Looking ahead, the Boxing Road to Paris 2024 pathway will culminate in the 2nd World Qualifier to be hosted in Bangkok, Thailand, in May.
