The 2023 Asian Games gold medalist from Uzbekistan showcased his superior skills, overwhelming Nebil IBRAHIM (SWE) with a flawless 5:0 victory. Khalokov’s technical prowess was on full display, as he secured a perfect scorecard with all five judges awarding him every round. Moving into the quarterfinals, Khalokov is set to face the formidable Jose QUILES BROTONS (ESP), the 2023 European Games silver medalist, who earned a hard-fought 4:1 split decision over Makhmud SABYRKHAN (KAZ). Both boxers demonstrated exceptional technique, but Quiles Brotons edged out the Kazakh boxer with a superior strategy and precise combinations.

In a major upset in the Men’s 71kg division, top-seed and 2023 Pacific Games gold medalist Shannan DAVEY (AUS) was defeated by Bulgaria’s Rami Mofid KIWAN. Kiwan, who delivered a near-perfect performance, left spectators in awe as he dominated Davey from start to finish. His relentless aggression and tactical precision earned him a unanimous 5:0 decision, with all judges scoring in his favor for each of the three rounds. Kiwan’s next challenge will be against Omari JONES (USA), who mirrored the Bulgarian’s scoreline by outclassing Chia Wei KAN (TPE). Jones showcased his own impressive punching power ensuring a clear path to the quarterfinals.

The Women’s 75kg division made its Paris 2024 debut today, with several standout performances. Qian LI (CHN), two-time Olympic medalist (Rio 2016 bronze, Tokyo 2020 silver), dashed the hopes of Hergie BACYADAN (PHI) with a commanding 5:0 win.
