Today marked the start of the Boxing Tournament at the 19th Panamerican Games, taking place at the Centro de Entrenamiento Olímpico in Santiago de Chile. 14 bouts were contested on Day 1 of competition.

From October 19 until October 28, an outstanding roster of 174 boxers from 26 National Olympic Committees and an Independent Team will compete across 13 weight categories. They will vie for one of the highly coveted 30 Paris 2024 qualification slots, at stake at the 19th Pan American Games.

The 19th edition of the Pan American Games, a historical first in Chile, promises to be a great showcase of boxing. Running from October 20 to November 5, 2023, the city of Santiago will play host to this continental event.
